About MotoGP
MotoGP is the top class of motorcycle racing in the world. It's a global championship that runs from March through November, with 22 races across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia. The bikes are 1000cc prototypes that push over 220 miles per hour. The season is in full swing, with the European rounds coming up.
Top teams and riders
Ducati is the dominant force in MotoGP. They've won multiple championships and have the deepest roster. Francesco Bagnaia is the defending world champion. Jorge Martín, Marc Márquez, and Enea Bastianini are the other top contenders. Aprilia and KTM are the main challengers. The Japanese manufacturers — Yamaha and Honda — are rebuilding after struggling in recent years.
Format
Each Grand Prix weekend runs from Friday to Sunday. Friday has free practice sessions. Saturday has qualifying and a sprint race. Sunday has the main race. The sprint race is about half the distance of the main race and awards points to the top nine finishers. The main race is full distance and awards points to the top 15. The format has been in place since 2023 and has made the weekends more exciting.
Viewership
MotoGP pulls over 400 million viewers globally each season. The numbers are strongest in Italy, Spain, and Southeast Asia, where motorcycle racing is a cultural phenomenon. The Spanish and Italian rounds draw the biggest crowds and TV ratings. International interest has grown with the expansion of races in the US, Argentina, and Indonesia.
Global streaming with MotoGP VideoPass
MotoGP VideoPass is the official streaming service for the championship. It covers every practice, qualifying, and race for MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, and MotoE. The service includes on-demand replays, onboard cameras, and live timing. A season pass is around €199.99, or €29.99 per month. It's the best option for hardcore fans who want full access.

In the US, Fox Sports holds exclusive rights. Races air on FS1 and FS2. The Fox Sports App streams races live with a cable login. FOX One is a direct-to-consumer streaming service for Fox Motorsports at about $19.99 a month. Live TV services like FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, and Sling TV (Blue + Sports Extra) carry FS1 and FS2. A free FAST channel called the MotoGP Channel is available on Prime Video, Plex, and Freevee offering 24/7 coverage, though not always the live premier class race.
