About CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top club volleyball competition in Europe. It's the most prestigious tournament in the sport. The best teams from Italy, Poland, Russia, and other volleyball powerhouses battle it out for the title. The knockout rounds are underway, with the Final Four scheduled for later this month.
Top teams
Italian clubs dominate the Champions League. Trentino Volley has won multiple titles and always fields a stacked roster. Sir Safety Susa Perugia is the other Italian powerhouse — they've been in the final several times in recent years. On the Polish side, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle won three straight titles from 2021 to 2023. Jastrzębski Węgiel is the other top Polish club. Russian teams like Zenit Kazan are also in the mix, though their participation has been complicated in recent years. The competition is fierce at the top. Any of four or five teams could win it in a given year.
Star players
The Champions League has the best volleyball players on the planet. Italian clubs stock up on top international talent. Polish teams have deep rosters of homegrown stars and foreign imports. The level is high — this is the standard for men's volleyball. The Final Four weekend usually features a bunch of guys who also star for their national teams in the Olympics and World Championships.
Viewership
The CEV Champions League pulls between 20 and 25 million viewers globally each season. The numbers are strongest in Italy, Poland, and Eastern Europe. The Final Four is the biggest draw — the semifinals and final get serious ratings in volleyball-crazy countries. The women's competition also has a big following, but the men's side is where the money is.
TV options in Europe
Coverage varies by country. In Poland, Polsat Sport holds the rights and shows matches on their cable channels. In Italy, coverage bounces between Rai Sport and other networks depending on the year. In other European countries, the matches show up on local sports channels or streaming platforms. There's no single pan-European broadcaster, so fans in volleyball countries usually know where to find their team's matches.
Streaming options in the US and Worldwide
For fans outside Europe, EuroVolley TV is the official streaming platform. It's run by the CEV and carries every Champions League match live and on demand. You can buy a monthly subscription or a season pass. It works in the US, Canada, Asia, and most other countries outside Europe. No blackouts. No regional restrictions. If you're a volleyball fan outside the volleyball heartlands, this is the move.
Current season
The 2025-26 CEV Champions League season kicked off in October 2025. The group stage wrapped up in February. The quarterfinals are happening now in April, with the semifinals scheduled for later this month. The Final Four is set for May in a host city yet to be announced. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle are the defending champions after winning the title last season. Italian clubs are pushing hard to take the trophy back this year.
