About Indian Super League

The Indian Super League is the top professional soccer league in India. The 2026 season is a truncated edition running from February 14 through May, with 14 teams competing in a single-leg round-robin format. No playoffs this year — the team that finishes at the top of the table will be crowned champion. The season is underway, with Mohun Bagan Super Giant as the defending champions.

What's changed for 2026

After months of uncertainty following the expiry of the Master Rights Agreement with Football Sports Development Limited, the league was reinstated with help from the Union Sports Ministry. The 2026 season features a new format: each of the 14 teams plays 13 matches — once against every opponent. There are no playoffs or finals this year. The champion will be decided by points alone.

Top teams

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are the defending champions after winning the 2024-25 title. Kerala Blasters, Bengaluru FC, FC Goa, and Mumbai City FC are the other heavyweights. Newcomers Inter Kashi join the league this season after winning the I-League promotion. The full list of 14 teams includes East Bengal FC, Chennaiyin FC, Jamshedpur FC, Odisha FC, NorthEast United FC, Punjab FC, Mohammedan SC, and SC Delhi.

Format

The league has 14 teams. Each plays each other once for a total of 91 matches. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the title. No playoffs. No finals. The Kolkata Derby between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal is scheduled for May 3.

Streaming options in India

All 91 matches stream live on FanCode. The platform offers flexible pricing: a Season Pass for ₹299, a Team Pass to follow one club for ₹149, or individual Match Passes for ₹25 per game. The service is available on the FanCode app and website, with high-definition streaming and multi-language commentary.

TV options in India

Sony Sports Network has the television broadcast rights. Matches will be telecast primarily on Sony Sports Ten 2, with English and Hindi commentary. Sony also holds non-exclusive broadcast rights in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

International streaming

FanCode streams ISL matches globally through their app and website. International viewers can subscribe to the same pass options. For fans in South Asia (excluding India), Sony Sports Network provides TV coverage in select countries.

Current season

The 2026 ISL season kicked off on February 14 with Mohun Bagan SG hosting Kerala Blasters at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. The season runs through May, with the final matchday scheduled for later this month. The title race is tight, with the team at the top of the table after 91 matches being crowned champion.
